SANTIAGO DEL ESTERO, ARGENTINA
Welcome to the Escuela de ciudadanía
This is an in-person programme based in Santiago del Estero, Argentina, with the aim of fostering coexistence, reflection and the exchange of ideas and values. We believe it is essential to involve social and community actors at local, national, regional and global levels in order to cultivate a well-rounded understanding of the challenges the world faces today.
Through guided discussions, mentorship and peer engagement, participants learn how to use their voices and craft impactful narratives.
OUR SLOGAN IS: “VIRTUE AS OUR GUIDE”.
BUILDING A VIRTUOUS CITIZENSHIP
The school promotes virtuous citizenship, in which civic engagement is continuous and directed towards the common good. Through systemic transformation, the programme fosters a deeper understanding of social dynamics, enabling participants to address challenges at their root.
OUR GOALS
- Create a space in which young people can acquire the technical, social and ethical tools needed to design and implement public and private policies that advance social progress.
- Equip participants with an understanding of emerging global paradigms in order to address the challenges of the 21st century.
- Strengthen leadership skills related to teamwork and interpersonal relationships.
- Foster connections among individuals from different countries across the region in order to build networks and enhance collaboration among key stakeholders.
BUILDING A VIRTUOUS CITIZENSHIP
The ‘school of citizenship’ follows a workshop-based format with a group of participants aged 16 to 35 from diverse sectors (business, political, civil, educational, etc.).
The programme focuses on the following methodologies:
- Training and conferences: This is the primary mode of learning, including public sessions and workshops to practise skills, delivered through discussions, panels and individual training sessions.
- Conversations: Engaging with leaders from public and private sectors at local, regional and national levels.
- Debate sessions: Focused on common-interest topics, these sessions develop argumentative and public speaking skills.
- Social–community intervention projects: Participants apply their knowledge by presenting projects based on methodological planning standards.
- Cooperation: Encouraging collaboration with local, national and global organisations, both in person and virtually, to expand networks and foster cooperative efforts.
