About the Event
Nairobi Hub Workshop:
Young people in Kenya are rising. From the streets of Nairobi to digital frontlines, they are demanding change. Their voices are loud and their demands urgent.
At The 50 Percent, we believe systemic transformation is possible. We believe young people are not just participants—they are designers of the future.
The Nairobi Hub responds to this moment of crisis and possibility by creating a space where young changemakers can come together—not just to protest, but to propose bold alternatives.
A space for reflection, learning, and co-creation:
The Nairobi Hub is a locally-rooted, youth-led civic space where imagination meets strategy. It brings together young activists, creatives, and system-thinkers from Nairobi and surrounding counties to reflect on recent mobilizations, process collective experiences, and co-design solutions grounded in local wisdom.
This is not another short-term initiative. It is a long-term commitment to building a community of practice—one that centers youth agency, intergenerational dialogue, and systemic transformation.
What we aim to do:
* Create space for civic reflection and healing after a year of youth-led mobilization and repression in Kenya.
* Introduce systems thinking and narrative tools that help young people analyze root causes and reimagine the future.
* Build bridges across sectors and generations, connecting youth with elders, civic leaders, and knowledge keepers.
* Co-create the Hub’s first learning and action cycle, including selecting the inaugural cohort and identifying systemic challenges to tackle together.
Who it’s for:
* Young changemakers, creatives, organizers, and thinkers (ages 18–35) from Nairobi and surrounding counties.
* Civil society actors, community leaders, public servants, and educators who believe in youth-led transformation.
* Anyone ready to build systems that work for everyone.
